Population over 18, Census 2020
Population Over 18 (Census 2020) is an interactive web application focused on the adult population distribution across the Delmarva Peninsula. Using 2020 Decennial Census Redistricting Data, this tool visualizes both the total number and percentage of residents aged 18 and over down to the block group level.
The application employs color-coded symbology and proportional symbols to highlight concentrations of adults within each community. It offers insights into areas with high or low proportions of adult residents, helping stakeholders assess demographic structure for voting districts, health services, higher education outreach, and workforce development planning.
Key Features:
- 2020 adult population totals and percentages down to the block group
- Proportional circles to indicate total population 18 and over
- Color ramps representing the share of adults in the total population
- Interactive pop-ups with contextual data and local summaries
- Support for block-level aggregation to aid local planning
This tool supports data-driven planning and targeted engagement for adult-focused programs, services, and infrastructure across the region.
