Average Homesale Price for Mid-Shore Counties
Published June 10th, 2025

This interactive dashboard highlights housing market trends in Maryland’s Mid-Shore counties—Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot—through two key indicators: average home sale price and units sold. Drawing on data from 2000 to 2024, users can explore how local real estate markets have changed over time.

The top chart tracks the number of housing units sold each year. Talbot County historically sees higher transaction volume, peaking at over 1,400 sales in 2018 before experiencing a sharp decline post-2021. Caroline and Dorchester counties show steadier trends, with noticeable increases in recent years.

The bottom chart illustrates the average home sale price, where Talbot County consistently leads with significantly higher prices—surpassing $1.1M during its 2006 and 2007 peaks. Dorchester and Caroline counties reflect more modest pricing, typically ranging between $150K and $300K.

With clear color-coded line charts and easy county toggles, this tool offers real-time insights for policymakers, developers, and residents tracking housing affordability, demand, and long-term growth opportunities across the region.
